Wet Room Worker ( Fish Industry )

Prepare fish for smoking, including laying products on racks and threading hanging products onto spits.
Salt (brine) fish for processing.
Clean and gut fish by hand or using machinery.
Organize and store racks of fish and pallets in the cold storage area.
Set up required racks for the smoking process.
Maintain cleanliness of the production area, workspaces, tools, and machinery.
Work collaboratively with a team of 5 to 6 colleagues under the supervision of a shift leader.
Follow strict instructions on safety, hygiene, and sustainability.

Demonstrated attention to detail and punctuality.
Commitment to following strict hygiene and safety protocols.
Knowledge of Dutch/ English will be an advantage

Originally the company started smoking herring and eel, but nowadays it sells a much wider range of smoked and fresh fish. #Our company
Within our company, we have 5 departments:
o Bins
This is where the products come in. The products we smoke and most of the products we trade. This department also houses the live eel tanks. Hence the name troughs.
o Wet room
This is where the fish are removed (cleaned), salted (in brine) and laid or stretched. Laying on is placing fish fillets on grids. Rearing is putting fish on smoking sticks. The smoking sticks with fish are hung on racks.
o Smokehouse
This is where the fish are smoked. The products are also taken off the racks and packed here. We smoke in 2 ways: with automated smoking tunnels and manually over a fire with logs.
o Filleting department
In this department, smoked fish such as eel and mackerel are smoked and filleted. Salads are also made and the products are gas-packed.
o Shop
This is where our customers pick up our products. Some customers order their products in advance, but most come by and take what they need or like.

Our customers
We sell most of our products to fish retailers, people with a fish shop or people who sell fish at the market. We also sell many of our products to other fish wholesalers.

Health insurance: €36,85 per week
CNF certified housing: double rooms for €119 per week (double rooms)
