At Koelewijn Jacob van Jan, we specialize in the art of fish processing and smoking, delivering high-quality products to our customers. Our production facility operates in a high-care environment where hygiene is of the utmost importance. You will work in a dynamic atmosphere where teamwork and collaboration are key to ensuring smooth operations across different departments. Our working temperature is kept below 15°C for safety and quality control, and we provide all necessary protective clothing. The workday starts with a coffee in the break room, followed by preparation for the production floor, where personal belongings can be stored in secure lockers. Our company values continuous improvement and encourages innovation from all team members.

Working days from 06.00 to 15.00 with breaks at 08.00-08.15, 10.00-10.15 and a break from 12.00 to 12.30,
Work clothes and work shoes/boots will be provided by us,

This is what you will do

Lead your department and ensure daily tasks are completed according to agreed processes and schedules.
Supervise the unloading, inspection, registration, and storage of incoming goods in the processing area.
Oversee the production of smoked fish products using both traditional and modern techniques.
Ensure efficient workflow coordination between the processing area, smoking facility, and filleting department.
Collaborate with other team leaders, the production manager, and the store to ensure smooth production and order fulfillment.
Monitor the quality of the fish processing to ensure it meets hygiene and food safety standards.
Pack customer-specific orders and prepare products for delivery.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve production processes.

You bring this

MBO-3 level of thinking and work experience.
Experience in leading a department and coordinating work processes.
Ability to work independently and handle all tasks within the department.
Knowledge of fish handling and processing.
Strong understanding of hygiene standards, food safety regulations (HACCP), and industry certifications like MSC/ASC.
Proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written) is required; knowledge of Polish is a plus.
Strong social and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate your team.
Ability to remain calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, and maintain oversight of all activities.
A collaborative mindset and clear communication skills.
